Adobe Animate CC Adobe Flash Professional is an animation application that is widely used within the industry. It allows the user to design and animate vector graphics, and comes with an expansive range of tools for the purpose of creating animation.
Adobe Animate is the new name for the program previously known as Adobe Flash. The name change came with the 2016 update, and was intended to distinguish the software from the unrelated Adobe Flash Player. The program continues to support filetypes associated with Flash.
By using the CC library, you will be able to create and share assets between Animate and other CC programs in no time at all. Animate CC is fully integrated with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Muse.
Animate's native file format is SWF, designed for animated media, but it is also capable of exporting to the MOV and AVI video formats as well as GIF (both still and animated), JPG, PNG, PCT, BMP and even WAV, if you decide to export audio.
Adobe Animate CC Adobe Flash Professional can run on both Windows and Mac. The latest version will require (for Windows) Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10; or (for Mac) Mac OS X v10.11 or v10.12. In each case, an Internet connection will be necessary to register and install the software.
Yes, Adobe Animate allows its users to work with 3D environments. However, its 32 capabilities are limited in comparison to dedicated 3D animation programs such as Maya.
Yes, Adobe Animate and its earlier incarnation Flash have long been used in commercial television animation. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Bojack Horseman and Teen Titans Go! are just a few of the many popular cartoons that utilised the software during their development.
Yes. Although earlier versions of the software were geared more towards automatic inbetweening than frame-by-frame animation, the current incarnation of Adobe Animate offers full capabilities to anyone who wants to try out frame-by-frame animation.
Yes. The creation of website interfaces, games and other interactive media was one of the main purposes of Flash, and although Animate has increased its capabilities in terms of non-interactive videos, the option to create interactive media remains.
Character Animator is designed specifically for motion-capture animation, in which the movements of an actor are copied by an onscreen character. After Effects is designed primarily for the post-production of live action media, but can also be used as an animation tool in its own right. Of the three, Adobe Animate is the only one designed to create animation from scratch.
